SBE Chapter 56 Meeting Minutes
for June 26,2001 Meeting
at the Fountains Restaurant, Tulsa, OK.

 

Meeting called to order by Chairman Don Dobbs.  Don asked everyone to introduce himself or herself.
Bill Lee read the May Meeting Minutes; a motion to approve them was brought, seconded and approved by voice vote.Treasurer Reports was delivered by Larry Miller (awaiting hard copy from Larry Miller [on vacation]). Balance of $3635.19?A National SBE Chapter rebate check was deposited. 

Frequency Coordination above 1 gHz.  Larry Miller reported no news.

Below 1 gHz, Richard Hardy reported that the US Open went well; any frequency interference issues were mitigated. 

EAS report- Roger Herring said that the June Monthly test was inadvertently transmitted as a weekly test.   Roger said that the FCC has published a new EAS booklet (which needs to be accessible in Master Control).   He said that there have been 15 errors noted in the first 6 pages so the FCC will be revising the booklet promptly.  It can be downloaded from the FCC website, etc.

 Committee Reports- none except for the newly formed Newsletter Committee.

 Newsletter Committee: Roger Herring reported that after reviewing several options for the newsletter the e-mail option seems most viable for delivering meeting program information, relevant news, etc.  The newsletter advertisement sponsors will be featured in the e-mail, and the website.

 During this discussion Don Dobbs called for re-formation of a membership committee to update e-mail addresses, and grow Chapter 56 membership.   Troy Langham will head the membership committee.

 Roger Herring and Gerald Weaver will work on revamping the Chapter 56 website to accommodate the newsletter, and new additions.

 There was no other new business.

 Fuji Tape sponsored todays program and lunch.   Jim Heggedorn Technical Services Manager for Fuji Tape and Richard Farha with DL Media spoke about the various product lines of Fuji Tape and it’s development process.
