Chapter Chairman Bill Lee called the meeting to order and asked everyone to introduce themselves.

• Approval of Meeting Minutes:

Approval of Minutes as posted on the Chapter 56 website was called for, motion was requested, and motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

• Treasurers Report:

Dale Vennes reported that the Chapter’s checking account balance as of February 27, 2012 was $4,508.54.   There were no credits or debits this month.  The checking account balance as of March 27, 2012 is $4,508.54.

• Secretary’s Report:

Nothing to Report.

• Frequency Coordination above 1 GHz:

STL for Journal Broadcasting will be shuffling due to changing of location.

• EAS Report:

Roger Herring reported that work is continuing on LP1 and LP2 modifications.  Time will be provided for purchasing of any new equipment needed.

• Certification Report:

Jim Hobbs reported suggested that everyone check your certification for renewal dates.

OAB 2012 Engineering Conference will be on April 13, 2012 starting at 8am at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City.  Go to the OAB website for registration.   Did I mention the Free Breakfast and Lunch?

2012 Chapter Elections

Any Floor Nominations were asked for.  None were given.   Nominations were read and Chapter Chairmen Bill Lee called for a motion, motion was requested, and motion was made, seconded and approved by a majority of voice vote.

SBE is holding a National Strategic Planning Conference on Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Indianapolis, Indiana.   They are asking the Local Chapter Chairmen to attend if possible to meet and discuss the future and assist with the course of the Society.   National recommended the local chapter if possible to assist with the cost.    A motion was made to provide reimbursement for the Chapter Chairmen to attend up to $800.00 dollars for travel and expenses.   Motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Program was presented by Ron Veerman from Evertz and showed the Evertz options for Fiber Optics including the SFP gear and the IntelliGain Loudness controller for CALM Act compliance.

Larry Miller suggested that all 7 and 13 GHz users confirm their TX and RX points on their licenses to assist with any interference issues.

Larry Miller reported that Arial Video Systems has requested the use of channels 9 and 10 in Stillwater on Dec. 3, 2011.  Active participants in that band will be notified directly.

•  EAS Report:

Roger Herring reported.    The EAM message test occurred with some mixed results.   Test will be more than likely repeated a later date.   3^rd report is due to the FCC by Dec. 3, 2011.   Oklahoma CAP equipment has not been installed at this point awaiting quotes for satellite distributing.  LP1 and LP2 assignments might be changing soon.

SBE Chapter 56 lost 2 Great Engineers in the past month.

Steve Epps worked at KJRH for 33 years and Chapter Vice-Chairman Ray Klotz with Sierra Multimedia.   Ray joined SBE in 1976 and held 4 certifications, life membership and life certifications.   They both were great friends to SBE and to all of us in Chapter 56.   Please keep their family in your prayers.

Tim Diehl and Dale Vennes are in the committee that was formed to determine the steps necessary and to coordinate with National SBE on setting up a Certification scholarship fund.

Jim Hobbs has volunteered to be the temporary Certification chairman until elections.  Chapter Chairman Bill Lee asked for a motion to adjourn, motion was made, seconded, approved by voice vote.
