SBE Chapter 56 Meeting Minutes, July 22, 2008, Spaghetti Warehouse, Tulsa, OK

Chapter Chairman Roger Newton called the meeting to order and asked everyone to introduce themselves.
Treasurers Report:
Larry Miller reported the following: The Chapter’s checking account balance as of June 24, 2008, was $3,500.65. There have been no credits or debits. The Chapter’s checking account balance as of today, July22, 2008, is $3,500.65.
Secretary’s Report:
Nothing to report.
Frequency Coordination above 1 GHz:
Larry Miller had nothing new to report.
Frequency Coordination below 1 GHz:
Richard Hardy had nothing to report.
EAS Report:
Roger Herring had nothing to report.
Certification Report:

Program committee:
David Shaffer reported that August meeting would be presented by Ron Hamilton. Sept. program would be presented by AJA. October program would be Larry Bloomfield.
Old Business:
There was a reminder of the upcoming joint picnic with OKC SBE at Stroud park on July 26, 2008.
New Business:
It was proposed that a gift card be presented to our server at Spaghetti Warehouse for the great service she provides. A motion was made to do so, seconded and approved by voice vote. Larry Miller was directed to purchase a $50 gas card from QT.
It was proposed because of the way Thanksgiving fell on the calendar this year that the November meeting be moved to the first week of December. Motion was made to do so,
seconded and approved by voice vote.
It was announced that KTUL was going to start testing in the new @Ghz 12BAS.
A group of engineers representing interested stations would be meeting with representatives of the BOK arena for a tour on Friday July 25, 2008, and would make a report at next meeting.
Leonard Youngblood of OKC SBE Chapter 85 was introduced himself and invited everyone to the joint picnic at Stroud. He also invited everyone to attend the upcoming Ennes workshop to be held at OKC on the July 27, 2008.
It was proposed that the chapter do a community service project at Christmas time. A committee was formed to look at ideas and projects. Committee members are Ron Stearnes, David Shaffer, Larry Miller, and Roger Newton.
It was announced that Direct TV had changed out their equipment and was now broadcasting digital signals.
Jim Hobbs announced that the Spanish channel was using fixed 7Ghz on same frequency as Jim Hobbs station (channel 47).

Roger Newton asked for motion to adjourn, motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

The scheduled presenter canceled on short notice, so no program was presented.
Program:
Ron Hamilton and Mark Delende from EVS introduced representatives from Broadcast Pix and JVC who presented a program on Hi Def studio cameras and Master control solutions.
